Lowered expectations produces better results

This year I lowered my expectations. It doesn’t mean I lowered my standards, there’s a difference.

It means I no longer strive for perfection because I don’t have anything to prove to anyone but myself. This year has been physically and emotionally draining.

Throughout the struggles caused by the pandemic, I’ve come out stronger on the other side. I’ve developed a sense of self-awareness fully aware of how powerful self-care really is.

I allowed myself to be vulnerable, in turn giving myself permission to love. Permission to love myself and all my imperfections.

Permission to permanently erase perfectionism because it’s unattainable.

Permission to laugh.

Permission to cry.

Permission to live.

This life is one many take for granted and it’s time we break free of societal norms.

It’s time to be free.

Free from society, free from judgement, free to just be.

This is me.

Take it or leave it.

Stay true to yourself.

Do it for you, because you’re worth it.
